McGrathNicol appoints partners in Melbourne and Sydney
McGrathNicol has kicked off the year in style with the appointment of three new partners across its Melbourne and Sydney offices.
Matthew Hutton is a partner in the firm’s heritage Restructuring practice. He has been with the national consulting firm for more than 12 years, and specialises in turnaround, restructuring and insolvency matters.
Hutton works closely with lawyers, lenders, private equity principals and business owners, assisting them with crisis management, delivering turnaround strategies or when it is too late, the administration process. His focus is on market businesses within the construction, property, manufacturing, industrial and retail sectors.
Siobhan Hennessy is a partner in the Forensic practice, and has been hired externally from PwC, where she was a Partner. She brings over two decades of experience in the consulting industry to the firm, having previously also served PPB Advisory, Deloitte, AlixPartners, and KPMG.
Hennessy focuses on dispute resolution, forensic investigations, regulatory response and labour force reviews, and is specialised in investigating allegations of misconduct, quantification of damages and preparation of evidence for dispute-resolution forums.
Commenting on her new challenge, she took to LinkedIn to state: “I am so pleased to have joined the partnership and the Forensic and Advisory team at McGrathNicol. I am looking forward to working with this talented group of professionals and the opportunities that lie ahead.”
Rhyan Stephens meanwhile is a turnaround and operations specialist with more than two decades of experience managing large-scale supply chains and industrial businesses in Australia and overseas. He specialises in optimising operations and brings an extensive background in strategic transformation, commercial growth, governance and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and merger integration.
Stephens has been with McGrathNicol since October 2019, having previously served JKD Advisory for over seven years. Earlier in his career, he held several leadership roles in industry.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the McGrathNicol partnership as we continue to broaden the suite of services that we offer as a firm. Supply chains are being recognised as increasingly important to business continuity, profitability and scalability in recent times and a key focus area in restructuring, business improvement, strategy and M&A engagements.”
The trio of appointments bring McGrathNicol’s total partner count to 37. They lead a team of around 330 advisors and staff.
Commenting on the appointments, company Chairman Jason Preston, said: “Each of these new partners embodies the values and principles of our firm. We look forward to the contribution they will make to McGrathNicol as highly-skilled specialists.”
