Neil Birchall joins FTI's Construction practice in Brisbane
FTI Consulting has strengthened its Constructions Solutions practice in Australia with Neil Birchall.
Appointed a Managing Director, Neil Birchall is based in FTI Consulting’s Brisbane office. He joins the firm from SJA Construction Services, where he spent the past four years as Leader of its Expert Services practice. Earlier in his career, he worked for, among others, construction consultancies Driver Trett and Turner Townsend.
Birchall brings over three decades of experience in construction and dispute resolution experience, including in the oil and gas, mining, infrastructure and transport, and public utilities sectors. He specialises in expert witness (quantum and delay), commercial advisory and dispute avoidance and has advised on matters in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Europe.
A Quantity Surveyor, Birchall has been appointed on numerous occasions as an independent Expert Witness on both quantum and delay claims in complex arbitration and litigation matters.
Commenting on the appointment, Stephen Rae, a Senior Managing Director of the Construction Solutions practice in Australia, said: “Neil is a seasoned practitioner and brings considerable breadth and depth to our team. We are excited to continue expanding our teams on the ground across Australia this year.”
A service line within FTI Consulting’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment, the Construction Solutions practice specialises in helping clients prevent, manage and resolve issues related to cost and delays on major construction projects. The practice consists of advisors who understand technical, business, regulatory and legal matters and are specialised in giving expert testimony.
Meanwhile, FTI Consulting this week also bolstered its Constructions Solutions practice in Asia with the addition of Hong Kong based Nick Adams and Johnny Chao.
