Strategy& partners Anthony James and Peter Burns join Accenture
Accenture has beefed up the senior team of its financial services business with Anthony James and Peter Burns.
Both senior advisors join from Strategy&, the strategic consulting wing of PwC, formerly known as Booz & Company before the Big Four splashed out close to US$1 billion to acquire the consultancy.
Peter Burns was a partner at Strategy&, latterly serving as the regional head of its financial services business, and global head of its banking and capital markets practice. One of the firm’s most senior partners, Burns was also a board member of PwC's South East Asia Consulting division.
Burns is a lifelong Strategy& company member. He previously spent over two decades at Booz & Company, where he was a member of the Board of Directors from 2013 to 2015, part of the team driving the transaction with PwC.
Anthony James similarly was a partner, and a leader in its Financial Services practice. He also served as the leader of its PwC’s Asset and Wealth Management practice in Australia. The lawyer by background brings over two decades of experience as a strategy consultant and wealth management executive.
The duo are the latest in a series of senior losses for Strategy& in Australia, including Chris Paxton and Miles Tam who both recently joined EY Port Jackson Partners as partners.
In Australia and New Zealand, Accenture is led by Tara Brady, a former Capco partner and PwC consultant. The financial services vertical is led by 28-year company veteran Andrew Woolf.
