Big Four senior Julian Gilchrist has joined BJSS, an international technology consultancy that is rapidly growing its Australian footprint.

Established in 1993, BJSS is a technology and engineering consulting firm with over 1,800 consultants working from offices across the United Kingdom, United States, Europe and Asia Pacific. In November last year the firm announced its expansion into Australia, and over the past ten months, BJSS has established its base in Melbourne, built a launching team and welcomed the first batch of clients.

Amir Soufizadeh, Head of International Expansion at BJSS, said: “Throughout the Covid pandemic, we have gradually built our presence in Australia. As Covid-19 restrictions ease, we can embark on the next phase of our growth and expansion.”

“We’re delighted to have Julian lead our operation. His experience in the Melbourne market, coupled with his delivery and consulting background, is hugely significant for our ambitions.”

Gilchrist joined BJSS from accounting and consulting giant EY, where he held the role of Director Technology Consulting. Before relocating to Australia in 2020, he served EY and NorthPoint Digital (which was acquired by EY in 2015). Earlier in his career, Gilchrist among others served tech consultancy Reactive (now part of Accenture Interactive).

Appointed Head of Delivery, Gilchrist oversees customer acquisition and project delivery, and heads up BJSS’ team of IT consultants, architects and engineers. “My focus is on building the local team, bringing the best of BJSS’ services to our clients, and creating an exceptional place for our people to work,” he said.

BJSS supports clients with technology, engineering, consulting, cloud, data and artificial intelligence services. Key sectors of focus in Australia currently are government, financial services and retail.
