Fast growing technology business Stax has welcomed a new senior to its team: Davinia Simon.

Appointed Head of Sales and Growth Markets, Davinia’s appointment is part of Stax’s ambitious growth plan. Having already grown its year-on-year revenue by 175 per cent and doubled its headcount to more than 60 employees over the past year, the Australian cloud management platform provider dedicated to the AWS platform aims to accelerate into its “next phase of growth” said Thor Essman, the firm’s Managing Director.

Stax, which began as a product division at AWS partner Versent, will leverage the AU$20+ million in private funding it has received to date to launch in New Zealand and expand into several South East Asia markets by the first quarter of next year.

In her new role role, Davinia will focus on driving sales growth in Australia and new markets. As the former Head of Channel and Alliances for Australia and New Zealand at AWS, she will develop Stax’s go-to-market and account management strategy. She will also help develop the company’s partner program, which will position the company for international expansion.

“It’s with enormous pleasure that I welcome Davinia as Head of Sales and Growth. Through her work at Amazon Web Services, I've grown to know her over the past few years, and I have been struck by her leadership, ability to communicate, attitude and customer focus,” said Essman.

“Davinia understands AWS customers and partners better than anyone. She knows the pain points they can experience when deploying cloud infrastructure and the innovation that can be achieved when the foundation is built right. I look forward to expanding Stax to new channels and markets, under her leadership.”

Commenting on her new challenge, Davinia said: “Stax is a sophisticated and effortless solution to an inherently complex global problem. Based on all the current success metrics, Stax undoubtedly has a global trajectory ahead of it and I’m excited to be a part of the team to take this business to the next stage.”
