Mark Booth joins Nous as a principal in its Canberra office
Nous Group has strengthened its consulting team with a new Principal: Mark Booth.
Mark Booth brings over 30 years of experience in health, leadership and consulting to the Australian management consultancy. Prior to Nous Group, he was CEO of Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), an independent statutory agency that supports public health aims and an industry employing over 2 million Australians and with more than $24 billion in exports.
Before that, Booth worked predominantly in the health sector shaping strategic policy. He has worked in the public and academic sectors in the UK, New Zealand, Australia and the United States. This included being a senior policy advisor to Health Ministers in New Zealand and being a Harkness Fellow at Brown University looking at aged care provision in Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
During his seven years at the Australian Department of Health, he supported the design and roll-out of mental health reforms, and led the establishment of Medicare Locals and the transition from Medicare Locals to Primary Health Networks.
“With experience in the public, private and academic sectors, Mark is expert in delivering complex policy advice to governments, in leading organisational and cultural change, in dealing with complex multinational stakeholder environments and in motivating and leading teams. We are delighted to welcome him to our team,” said Tim Orton, the founder and managing principal of Nous Group.
Last month, Nous Group was named Australia's top company (and consultancy) to work in the ‘Best Places to Work’ study by WRK+, an independent human capital research agency.
