Kumar Padisetti joins FTI Consulting as senior managing director
Energy expert Kumar Padisetti has joined FTI Consulting’s Melbourne office, following ten years at Deloitte.
Global advisory FTI Consulting has appointed Deloitte partner Kumar Padisetti as a Senior Managing Director in its Economic Consulting practice in Australia. Based out of Melbourne, Padisetti brings more than 20 years of professional consulting experience to the role, with particular expertise in the energy sector. He joins an FTI team of around 30 senior managing directors in Australia, spread across four offices.
“Kumar’s appointment supports our firm’s commitment to growing our Economic & Financial Consulting practice in Australia and to further expand our leading energy practice,” said senior managing director Mark Dewar, who heads FTI’s Australian practice. “His deep sector expertise, market knowledge and strong leadership skills will significantly enhance our firm’s offering to clients across Australia and beyond.”
A mechanical engineering graduate of Victoria University and MBA holder from Massey, Padisetti started his career as an energy trader and market analyst with Tasman Energy in New Zealand, before crossing the ditch and later joining Deloitte as a director and electricity practice leader in Melbourne. From there, he served as a partner and Australian energy & resources lead for management consultancy Saha International.
After six and a half years with Saha, Padisetti rejoined Deloitte as a partner in 2010, responsible for the Energy & Resources sector as part of the firm’s Financial Advisory practice. During his decade with Deloitte, Padisetti further developed his expertise in commercial and financial analysis, project development, portfolio and risk management, and market design and reform across the energy and carbon markets along with renewables.
“FTI Consulting has established itself as a world leader in energy market advice. The team has contributed to some of the most transformative energy projects globally, and I look forward to supporting the ongoing growth of the business in Australia and working with its global network of energy experts to drive the continuing energy transition in our region,” Padisetti said of his appointment.
