Guy Farrow has been appointed as the APAC and Middle East regional leader of Heidrick & Struggles’ Board & CEO practice, with Graham Kittle tapped as his replacement.
Having led the local Australian division of the global executive search and leadership consultancy for the past twelve years, Farrow has has been promoted to the top regional role for the Board & CEO practice (in what is a newly created role). His successor Kittle currently is managing partner for Technology and Services across APAC and Middle East.
“I genuinely look forward to working with my exceptional colleagues from across the region to serve our clients on their most critical leadership appointments,” Farrow said of his own appointment in an announcement on LinkedIn. “I am equally delighted that Graham has been appointed as managing partner of our Australian business, and am confident that the leadership of our firm in Australia is in great hands.”
Also the leader of Heidrick & Struggles’ Industrial practice in Australia and New Zealand, Farrow has been with the firm for over a decade and a half, and currently focuses on board, chief executive and senior executive searches for clients in the industrial sector, specifically in the areas of transportation, logistics, infrastructure, and energy.
Prior to joining, he spent a year with strategy consultancy Port Jackson Partners, since acquired by Ernst & Young. Farrow also had a brief stint with management consulting firm Bain & Company dating back to 1996, in between a decade of working directly in the aviation industry – including senior management roles at Qantas and Jetstar, and American Airlines in the US.
An MBA-holder in Marketing with the UCLA School of Management, Farrow has expertise in sales & marketing, operations, and finance & planning among other areas.
His successor Kittle has been leading the firm’s executive search assignments covering the areas of digital, consulting, technology and services across the Asia Pacific and Middle East. Based out of Sydney, Kittle has been with the firm for the past eight years, joining in 2014 after a similar-length stint at IBM – as a partner and A/NZ consulting practice leader for Strategy & Transformation.
Originally crossing to IBM on its acquisition of PwC’s previous consulting division in 2003, where he had been a director for the three previous years, Kittle also later served as the global tech giant’s New Zealand managing partner for IBM Global Business Services (recently rebranded to IBM Consulting), as well as A/NZ practice lead for Business Analytics and Optimisation. Earlier, he spent a decade in various roles at NCR Teradata.
