During his career, he has worked extensively on over a dozen restructuring assignments with a focus on clients in the energy & resources, agricultural and construction sectors. Notable engagements include Alita Resources, Eastern Goldfields (now Ora Banda), Bell Group, Great Southern and more recently as a joint appointee in the administration of Salt Lake Potash.

Birch also has been involved with several international restructurings in Singapore, Kazakhstan and Indonesia.

His experience ranges from implementing and managing turnaround strategies, completing independent business reviews on behalf of banks and investors, investigating claims on behalf of creditors and stakeholders, and recapitalising entities.

“Tom brings extensive experience in core sectors, and complements the existing capabilities within Cor Cordis,” said Jeremy Nipps, a partner at Cor Cordis. “We have ambitious growth plans, and this appointment brings opportunities to better service our client base in Perth and in the mining sector.”

Commenting on his new challenge, Birch said: “I’m looking forward to getting to know and working with everyone at Cor Cordis.”

Founded in 2006, Cor Cordis specialises in financial advisory, restructuring and insolvency services to the small to mid-market sector. The consulting firm has around 130 consultants and staff working from four offices in Australia.
