Matthew Pieroni and Vanessa Domaschenz join EY as partners

The Australian wing of Ernst & Young (EY) has bolstered its People Advisory Services practice with two partners – both cross from rival Big Four firm Deloitte.

The hire of Matthew Pieroni (47) and Vanessa Domaschenz (47) brings the size of EY’s People Advisory Services practice (which is part of EY Advisory) to 46. “Matthew and Vanessa are highly experienced experts with strong reputations in their fields,” said Anne Giugni, EY People Advisory Services Leader for Oceania.

According to Giugni, the two new partners are choosing to come to EY because “they see we are the only firm providing the true, end to end service for clients for their people agenda, and because of the strong teaming culture right across the practice.”

Matthew Pieroni is joining EY in Melbourne bringing over two decades of consulting, people and human capital transformation and coaching experience. A two decade veteran with Deloitte, Pieroni most recently was the lead partner for its Digital Finance Transformation practice, previously, he led the firm’s Consumer & Industrial Products team within its consulting division.

Vanessa Domaschenz was formerly organisational transformation lead partner in Deloitte’s Canberra and Adelaide offices. She specialises in large-scale business and technology transformation projects in the public sector, and has a passion for strategic change, and the integration of artificial intelligence into the workforce. Domaschenz previously also gained consulting experience in private sectors and served PwC.

The duo appointments continue a period of senior hiring for EY’s People Advisory Services practice. Last month, Leonie Costello returned to EY (from Deloitte), and late last year Susie Durbin and Alice Bungey joined the practice’s partnership from Accenture and KPMG respectively.
