Wayne Te Paa joins tech consultancy CTO Labs as a partner

CTO Labs, a boutique specialised in technology advisory and due diligence services, has boosted its partner team with Wayne Te Paa, who joins the co-founding duo Josh Hinton and Mike Mengell at the helm of the business.

Based in Sydney, CTO Labs is a management consultancy that helps startups and scaleups with their technology transformations, and buyers – both companies and financial sponsors – with technology due diligence during mergers & acquisitions.

Having grown from a two-man company to a team of around 15, the firm has now added a third partner to its ranks. For Wayne Te Paa, the cross from Thoughtworks sees him reunite with fellow alumni Hinton and Mengell, who both departed Thoughtworks in 2017 to launch CTO Labs.

“Wayne is a recognised leader in the tech industry and brings to the team razor sharp insight around strategic, positive tech-led change,” said Mengell. “We have been industry colleagues for years and are good friends: which is exactly the type of culture we are creating: connected, collaborative and fun.”

During his five years at Thoughtworks, Te Paa led the strategic clients portfolio in Australia (including the likes of Atlassian, NAB, REA Group, and Xero) and led a number of key accounts. Before that, he was Regional Director Australia & New Zealand at Sapiens, and a Business Development Manager at insurance technology provider Innovation Group.

“Wayne’s broad experience enables him to understand organisations with keen insight and have the conversations needed for executing challenging technology driven change,” said Hinton.

At CTO Labs, Te Paa will lead the Technology services practice of the business with a focus on market expansion and services in tech strategy, product development, tech modernisation, software development & engineering, and digital platforms & cloud.
