Jodie Bricout joins Aurecon to lead circular economy offering

Aurecon has strengthened its Sustainability & Climate Change practice with Jodie Bricout, who will focus on expanding the firm’s circular economy offering.

Appointed a Principal, Bricout will lead Aurecon’s circular economy proposition across its three lines of business: design, engineering and advisory.

“Jodie will take responsibility for the integration of expertise across the business to ensure high-quality and consistent project delivery, alongside strategic advisory and stakeholder engagement to help clients design and implement circular economy strategies,” said Paul Gleeson, Group Director Sustainability at Aurecon.

For the role, Bricout will leverage her close to two decades of experience in business and academics. Most recently, she was Circular Economy Manager at Lifecycles for six years, and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide. Prior to that, she spent a dozen years in her homeland France helping businesses with circular economy transitions and contributing to policy making at state, federal and European levels.

“As a leading circular economy expert, Jodie stood out in the hiring process particularly for her mastery of technical solutions and stakeholder and project management experience accumulated in Europe, where advisory strategies to embed circular economy services for organisations have reached a more mature stage,” said Gleeson.

Aurecon’s Sustainability & Climate Change helps clients – corporates, infrastructure players and governments – with realising their decarbonisation strategies, from development through to project delivery. The firm focuses mainly on projects in the built environment.

“We design more sustainable infrastructure, and also enable businesses and organisations to transition existing infrastructure and manage existing resources,” explained Gleeson.

“The circular economy market is a rapidly growing segment. Jodie’s appointment will allow us to create more opportunities for working with our clients to design-out waste, lower material and resource consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across supply chains.”
