Two months after acquiring a legal specialist, BlueRock has now added Broadbent Financial to its outfit.

Founded in 2008, Broadbent Financial is an advisory firm that offers investment and asset management services to high net worth individuals, families, self-managed super funds and trusts.

The Melbourne-based firm bolsters the private asset management business of BlueRock – one of its 11 specialised divisions that work together to provide a wide-ranging professional services offering to its small and mid-sized clients.

“The Broadbent Financial team will add great capability to our existing asset management offering in a way that aligns with our BlueRock growth strategies and values,” said BlueRock Founder and CEO Peter Lalor.

The move sees a team of five transfer to BlueRock. “Each team member brings with them 10 to 20+ years of experience in the finance industry. All have had diverse careers both before and at Broadbent Financial, working at various Australian-based Financial advisory firms such as UBS, Merill Lynch and Shaw and Partners, and Standard Chartered,” said Jarrod Broadbent, Managing Director of Broadbent Financial.

Other practices of BlueRock (300 staff) focus on services such as accounting, law, financial management, consulting and digital.

“With the wide range of professional services BlueRock provides, we believe this partnership will help us support our clients to protect and grow their assets and deliver a more holistic offering,” said Broadbent.

The deal is the latest in a series of partnerships and (team) mergers over the last 12 months for BlueRock, in line with its strategy to expand its footprint both nationally and internationally over the next 3-5 years.

“Growth by acquisition is a key part of this strategy,” said Lalor. “The objective is to identify opportunities to provide unique value to our entrepreneurial clients and to build an ecosystem that is the absolute best possible service solution for SMEs in Australia.”

Last year, BlueRock was named one of Australia’s ‘Best Workplaces’ by Great Place to Work.
