Nous Group expands senior team with five new principals
Nous Group has been busy bolstering its leadership and expertise in recent months, adding five new principals nationwide.
The Australian-origin international management consultancy has recruited seasoned digital strategy and transformation advisor Ian Jansen as a principal in its Sydney office. Jansen joins after four years operating his own co-founded digital consulting start-up, with his recruitment following that of Csaba Jancsovics, Nick Stenson, Rob Ewin and Michael Pennisi as fellow principals in recent months.
Described as responsible for some of the first public cloud transformations in the country, Jansen brings decades of both public and private sector digital leadership experience to his new role.
Most recently, Jansen has overseen his own practice Jansen & Townsend Digital Consulting, and previously held roles including Chief Information Officer for Dimension Data and CIO for the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.
“I have been really impressed with the impactful work Nous Group has led,” Jansen said. “Digital, data and transformation are most successful when complemented with deep sector know-how to apply strategy and address customer problems. At Nous Group I will be working with people with deep sector knowledge in government, policy, economics, education, finance, health and aging, human services and safety or security.”
Jansen’s recruitment follows two additions to Nous Group’s Brisbane office last month, including former Boston Consulting Group project leader Csaba Jancsovics, who crosses from fellow Australian consultancy Partners in Performance after a decade.
A specialist in large-scale transformations, Jancsovics spent four years with Boston Consulting Group serving clients across the US and EMEA, amassing altogether two and a half decades of management consulting experience.
People strategist Nick Stenson also joins the Brisbane office – or rejoins rather – after a near three-year stint at the University of Queensland serving in a director role for HR client partnering. Previously, he spent seven years at Nous Group, working his way up from senior consultant to be made a principal in 2017. He also spent over four years at human capital firm Mercer across two stints, latterly as a senior associate.
Earlier, Nous welcomed Rob Ewin as a principal to its Canberra office, with Ewin bringing a wealth of local and international strategy consulting experience garnered at Bain & Company, PwC and Strategy&. Ewin first joined PwC’s Canberra office before crossing with the firm for a stint in London, later returning to take up a position with Bain & Company in Melbourne. More recently, he spent five years as a manager and director at Strategy&.
Also joining the firm in September was financial services expert Michael Pennisi, the former ten-year CEO and Chief Strategy Officer of QSuper Group. Dating back to AMP in 1989, Pennisi has amassed a wealth of experience in the financial services sector, spanning superannuation, investment management, life insurance, financial advice and strategy. He also served as Managing Director of Corporate Strategy at QIC.
