Sia Partners adds mining expert Amy Calcutt to partner team
Global management consultancy Sia Partners has strengthened its senior team in Australia with Amy Calcutt.
With close to two decades of experience in consulting gained at strategy giant Boston Consulting Group, and around seven years at Horizon Power and Rio Tinto, Calcutt brings extensive experience to Sia Partners.
Appointed an associate partner, based in Perth, Calcutt will focus on clients in the mining and energy sectors, specialising in topics including leadership, organisational change, performance improvement, and program delivery. “I’m looking forward to working with clients at such an interesting juncture for the mining and energy sector.”
Well-regarded by the industry, Calcutt’s appointment is the first senior appointment made by Sia Partners following its move into the Australian market. In July last year, the Paris-headquartered group (around 2.000 staff worldwide) entered the Australia market with the acquisition of Churchill Consulting, a 20-year consulting firm with deep expertise in mining, energy, strategy and performance improvement in the resources-focused Western Australia market.
“The chance to join Sia Partners in Perth, and tap into its 20 years of experience working with Western Australia’s top organisations, combined with Sia Partners’ global industry expertise, is an incredibly exciting opportunity,” said Calcutt.
David Lynch, Partner and Mining Lead at Sia Partners, said that with Sia Partners’ ambition to be the leading advisory firm for mining in Australia, strengthening the offer with high-calibre experts like Calcutt is essential.
“The mining and energy are industries undergoing fast and significant transformations, which throws up challenging and exciting work for consultancies like Sia Partners,” said Lynch. “With senior level talent like Amy joining our already highly experienced team, we’re deepening our trusted advisory offer at a time when that’s exactly what the mining and resources sector in Australia needs.”
“In this market, being able to attract great talent will continue to be critical to our success. We’re finding that Sia Partners’ approach of local teams with access to global expertise, underpinned by our ‘consulting for good’ ethos, is helping us stand out in the consulting market.”
Over the past few years, Sia Partners has closed over a dozen deals. The firm is active across every global region.
