Sekuro taps tech industry veteran Ian Buddery as chairman
Australian cyber security consultancy Sekuro has appointed Ian Buddery as chairman of the board, bringing in the technology industry heavyweight to help fuel its international expansions plans.
Formed 18 months ago, Sekuro is a cyber security and digital resiliency provider headquartered in Sydney. Amid strong demand for cyber services, the firm has enjoyed booming times since its inception, expanding its team by more than 30% (40 staff) over the past twelve months.
“As an Australian-founded and grown industry innovator, Sekuro is on a growth trajectory. This has seen our headcount, customer base and service offerings grow rapidly, with our sights now set on become the most trusted cyber security and digital resilience partner in Australia and expanding internationally,” said Noel Allnutt, Managing Director of Sekuro.
“Having an industry veteran like Ian onboard is certainly going to help us get there and we’re delighted to have him join the team as chairman of the board,” Allnutt added.
Buddery brings over 30 years of experience in the tech industry to the specialist consulting firm. He is founder of multiple software ventures including eServGlobal which he led through venture capital rounds to an ASX public listing followed by the London Stock Exchange in 2004. He has also successfully sold companies to major US corporations.
The new chairman has been tasked with providing guidance to Sekuro’s growth ambition. Key pillars include further growing the footprint across Australia, establishing C-level relationships with clients, and expanding across Asia Pacific and into the United Kingdom.
“Sekuro has been consistently investing in its capabilities to work with CIOs, CISOs, and board members to overcome the immediate challenges of building their cyber resilience, and that focus on tangible business outcomes coupled with a focus on international growth is what attracted me to join them on this exciting journey,” said Buddery.
