BlueRock appoints Ella Morse, Trevor Gordijn and Bevan McLeod

Launched in 2008 and with a headcount now pushing towards 400, Melbourne-based accounting and advisory firm BlueRock has celebrated its 15th anniversary with a number of senior promotions.

Multidisciplinary advisory firm BlueRock has celebrated its 15th anniversary with a slew of senior appointments, including chief commercial officer Trevor Gordijn as executive managing partner and Bevan McLeod and Lisa Marshall as managing directors of accounting.

Founded by Peter Lalor in Melbourne in 2008, one half of BlueRock’s eight original crew members remain at the firm, including Ella Morse, Stephanie Todio, Daniela Giovanniello and Kate Masterton.

“We can hardly believe it’s been 15 years since Peter rounded up a crew of eight awesome accountants and founded BlueRock to break the rules and push boundaries to inspire and support business owners to try new things,” the firm stated on LinkedIn. “And it worked. What started off as a small but mighty accounting team has grown to almost 400 incredible people working across business advisory, wealth, finance, digital, law and a whole lot more.”

Ella Morse has been appointed as Head of Operations & Finance for BlueRock’s Family Office practice.

First joining as a director in 2018, Trevor Gordijn has served as Chief Commercial Officer at BlueRock since the tricky beginnings of 2020, and now adds the title of executive managing partner for accounting. Prior to coming on board, Gordijn spent close to a decade and half at Crowe Horwath dating back to its WHK days, including as managing principal for Eastern Victoria. He earlier served for a further decade between Ernst & Young and Moore Stephens.

Gordijn joins Jamie King and Lyle Meaney as executive managing partners at the firm, the latter who joined BlueRock’s wealth division in the role earlier this year.

The new structure of executive managing partner will fuel BlueRock’s multi-site service lines and support the continued growth of the business.

Also based in Melbourne, Bevan McLeod has been promoted to managing director for accounting at the firm’s La Trobe Street office. Boasting a background in tax and accounting but with a declared passion for technology, McLeod joined BlueRock in 2016 following a digital operations stint with Ballarat Mailworks, before which he spent five years as an account director at Deloitte. He first joined the Big Four firm as an analyst in 2000, altogether serving for over 13 years.
