Acclime enters New Zealand through acquisition of VCFO Group
Asian professional services firm Acclime has expanded into New Zealand through the acquisition of financial advisory firm VCFO Group.
Established in 2006, VCFO Group provide businesses and investors with finance services, including accounting and governance, inbound and outbound investment planning, taxation advisory, and fund administration. The firm has around 55 staff.
“This merger is a natural fit for what we do at Acclime – guiding and supporting our clients as they expand and succeed in Asia Pacific markets. We’ve identified New Zealand as a significant destination for foreign investment, and its trading relationships with its Australian and Asian neighbours are growing,” said Acclime Co-Founder and CEO, Martin Crawford.
Founded in 2019, Acclime is a professional services firm that helps businesses enter and operate in Asia Pacific markets. The firm has grown to over 800 staff since its inception, driven by a buy-and-build campaign in markets such as China, Hong Kong, and now New Zealand.
“This merger will allow VCFO Group’s clients to integrate with our established operational network across the Asia Pacific region, and leverage our UK, US, and European offices,” said Crawford.
Auckland-based VCFO Group has also developed a niche specialisation in the screen and entertainment industry, becoming one of New Zealand’s leading service providers for international and domestic film and television productions. Its full life cycle service offerings cover everything from structural set-up to maximising screen incentive rebate to industry-specific taxation and production accounting requirements.
VCFO Group leader Randolph van der Burgh says the company is enthusiastic about the merger and looking forward to the expertise and support Acclime will provide. “This integration with Acclime represents the logical next step in our journey, offering huge opportunities for our people and our clients.”
“We are excited to be joining Acclime’s extensive Asia Pacific presence delivering first class corporate and advisory services. The two-way client service and business growth opportunities ahead are exhilarating. This is a great fit.”
