Adelaide accounting and advisory firm Perks promotes five to director

Adelaide-based accounting and advisory firm Perks has made five new director promotions, boosting its senior leadership team to more than 30 individuals as it pursues ongoing growth.

Tim Haslam, Tyson Jeanes, Michael Boffa and James McGuffog have all been promoted within Perks’ accounting & business services team, while Matthew Fahey takes on a newly-created client director role for subsidiary AIT Specialists.

According to the Advertise, Perks launched a five-year strategic plan in 2022 with the aim of lifting its annual revenues from around $30 million to almost $50 million by 2026, while also raising its headcount to 250 over that period.

Established in 1981 and based out of the CBD since 2022 (as a co-tenant of PKF at 81 Flinders St), Perks has a crew of 200-plus professionals providing services across accounting, business advisory, wealth management, and human capital to clients in the agribusiness, hospitality, and healthcare sectors among others. The quartet of elevations extend the advisory’s director team to around 30.

All four were previously promoted to associate director in 2022 and collectively boast more than six decades worth of professional accounting experience.

Tyson Jeanes
Since 2008, Tyson has built experience working in mid-tier accounting and financial services firms across Adelaide. He is highly adept at providing a wide range of accounting and business advisory services to clients. While Tyson has a holistic accounting and advisory skill-set, he is a key member of the firm’s specialist team working with clients in the medical and dental industries.

Tim Haslam
Since 2006, Tim has forged a reputation as a trusted adviser to privately-owned businesses, business owners, and their families. Tim supports clients on tax compliance & planning, complex tax advice, real-time reporting, cash-flow forecasting, and process/systems improvement. He also understands how to harness technology and has helped numerous clients with their digital transformations.

Michael Boffa
Since joining Perks in 2009 through the CA Achiever Program, Michael has become a key figure in the firm’s business services division, providing holistic accounting and advisory services to a wide range of businesses and their stakeholders. His clients span a diverse range of industries such as healthcare, professional services, agriculture, property, construction, and non-profit organisations.

James McGuffog
James joined Perks in 2008 and has demonstrated his natural leadership ability in various cross-functional teams and projects. With over 16 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting advisory, James’ areas of specialisation include tax planning, asset protection, management information reporting, process development, P&L improvement, and succession planning.

Matthew Fahey
Matthew Fahey joined AIT Specialists in 2018 and has played a key role in the company’s growth. He has assisted a diverse range of clients across Australia, including local government entities and SMEs, and his deep understanding of the industrial and commercial sectors combined with his experience in sales and operations management allows him to effectively address each of their unique needs.
