Cybersecurity consultancy and managed services firm CyberCX has named three new practices leaders.

Grant Walsh, a Director in the Commercial and Solutions Group, has been named Head of the Telecommunications, Media and Technology industry practice.

On his new role, he said: “As an industry, telecom, media and technology are responsible for Australia’s digital backbone, from nation-building telco infrastructure that allows businesses of all sizes to succeed and grow to the vital services that keep Australians connected to their friends and family. However, wherever there is connectivity, there is cyber risk which has put this sector at the forefront of Australia’s cyber reckoning in recent years.”

Megan Lane, Director of the Strategic Communications practice, will now lead the Healthcare & Aged Care practice. “The recent spate of cyber and technology crises affecting healthcare have put cyber security top of mind for healthcare and aged care executives and boards.”

“The delivery of safe modern medicine is underpinned by secure technology that powers our hospitals, aged care facilities, medical devices and research institutes amongst others. In few other sectors do decisions made about technology and its security have the ability to so profoundly impact human lives and wellbeing.”

Michael Mammana, who already serves as the leader of the Defence & Aerospace practice, will have his role expanded to include the Transport & Logistics portfolio. “I am excited with my expanded my role at CyberCX. Our industry focus recognises that every industry is different, with its own set of unique and complex problems against a challenging cyber threat landscape.”

With over 1,400 cyber security professionals in Australia and New Zealand, CyberCX is one of the region’s largest homegrown cybersecurity partners to private and public sector organisations, helping customers confidently manage cyber risk, respond to incidents, and build resilience in an increasingly complex and challenging threat environment.
