Hood Sweeney appoints Louisa Andreucci and Dion Carbone
South Australian professional services firm Hood Sweeney has appointed Louisa Andreucci and Dion Carbone as joint heads of its Accounting business, with the pair to oversee a team of 80 professionals.
Andreucci and Carbone have each been with Hood Sweeney for just over a decade, with both joining as graduates in 2013. The duo replace former accounting head Eddie Taylor, who has departed the firm after eleven years.
Meanwhile, after seventeen years, Hood Sweeney and its tech and growth advisory arms – OrloOne and BlueJam – are preparing to relocate from their current home-base on South Terrace, albeit with a similar Park Lands vibe in Dulwich.
Both Andreucci and Carbone have been accounting & business advisory directors at Hood Sweeney since 2022 – two of eight in the division and sixteen overall – with both also working with Blue Jam. The firm said the dual appointment comes as it prepares its next five-year strategy, which will include an increased focus on AI and other technologies to drive transformation.
“We believe together we have the energy, drive, empathy, vision and commerciality to inspire and empower the accounting team to reach its full potential,” the pair jointly stated, adding that they plan to “cultivate a high-performance, innovative culture with deeply engaged advisors, driving a leveraged, non-production reliant business around our clients, people and systems.”
Coming to the firm alongside Taylor upon Hood Sweeney’s merger with boutique accountancy Shearer + Elliss in 2013, Carbone advises small to medium-sized enterprises and high net worth individuals among other clients with a particular focus on strategic growth, including through the adoption of “innovative cloud-based solutions for common business problems”.
Andreucci meanwhile spent time at Stantins prior to joining the firm, where she serves SMEs and family businesses in industries such as food & hospitality, construction and the non-profit sector on a range of financial matters, including management accounting, taxation and planning, cash flow forecasting, modelling, GST, and in the preparation of activity and financial statements.
On the move
Soon, the pair, along with Hood Sweeney’s Adelaide-based team (the firm has further regional outlets in will Port Augusta, Whyalla, Clare, and Kadina) will be serving clients from a new city-fringe location at 167 Fullarton Road in Dulwich – once again across the road from the Park Lands – with the move set to take place in the coming months and facilitate ongoing growth.
“This is part of our continuous growth strategy, and commitment to providing great amenities for our clients and staff to make coming to work pleasurable,” Hood Sweeney said of the relocation. “From our beginnings, when Peter Hood opened an accounting business on Hindley Street with one client, we have successfully grown over the past 48 years to more than 100 staff.”
