Hood Sweeney’s technology business relaunches as Orlo One
South Australian accounting and consulting firm Hood Sweeney has rebranded its technology business as ‘Orlo One’, which will continue to be led by company veteran Graham Wadsley.
Hood Sweeney’s technology services practice has been up and running for the past two decades and currently operates with a team of around 20 local professionals, including recently promoted director Adrian Crossing.
Based out of South Terrace, the unit provides cybersecurity, cloud, information management, strategy, and managed support services to medium-sized business clients in Adelaide and throughout regional South Australia.
In unveiling its new name and branding, the firm said that ‘Orlo’ has multiple relevant meanings as a plinth-like structure, the word for ‘brink’ in Italian, and as a boy’s name meaning ‘famous throughout the land’, coming together to signify Orlo One’s aim to be “at the brink of technology disruption while providing a supporting structure for clients.” They also just dug the name.
While the new branding and logo are stylishly modern, the business is led by two Hood Sweeney stalwarts in Wadsley and Crossing, who have both spent upwards of a decade and half at the firm, with the latter promoted to director last month after joining in 2008. Meanwhile, as practice leader, Wadsley boasts three decades worth of IT experience, having been with Hood Sweeney since 2005.
“We want businesses to understand what we do and the range of specialised tech services we offer,” Hood Sweeney said of the change-up, clarifying that Orlo One remains a part of the firm. “By visually defining our services through Orlo One, including a dedicated website, we want to continue to grow by providing the same excellent, client-focused services our clients are accustomed to.”
The introduction of the separate tech branding is Hood Sweeney’s second such exercise in less than twelve months, with its growth advisory brand Blue Jam launched toward the end of last year. Likewise led by a director team of long-term Hood Sweeney consultants, Blue Jam offers a range of services across strategy, marketing, people & culture, strategic accounting, and technology
Coming up on its 50th anniversary in 2026, Hood Sweeney sits with the country’s top 40 largest accounting and consulting businesses of its kind, generating revenues pushing the $25 million mark via a headcount of 140 professionals. ASX-listed national advisory network Count – rebranded last year from Countplus – bought a 25 percent stake in the Adelaide firm back in 2012.
