Deloitte executive rejig complete as Joanne Gorton takes CEO reins

The Australian wing of professional services firm Deloitte has now completed its CEO handover to Joanne Gorton, with a number of its senior executives moving into new roles in the process.
Gorton was elected as Deloitte’s next Australian CEO in December, and alongside recently-installed chair John Greig immediately put her stamp on the business with a rejigged executive, which included the loss of some seats and the elevation of others.
Now that she has officially taken the reins from previous chief Adam Powick, the fate of some of Deloitte’s outgoing board executives has become a little bit clearer, with former consulting boss Ellen Derrick for example now serving as Asia Pacific head of government and public services.
Elsewhere, former Deloitte chief operating officer and senior audit partner Andrew Griffiths, who also previously served as CFO, will now head up the firm’s finance, IT, and shared service business line as managing partner, while ex-board member Vanessa Matthijssen becomes Deloitte’s Asia Pacific consumer industry leader.
Meanwhile, Lee Dryden has been appointed as Deloitte’s national M&A leader, after an earlier career start at Ernst & Young and Accenture. Also, Dave Rodgers, based out of Brisbane, takes on the lead audit & assurance role left vacant by Gorton’s ascension, and Ian Turner and Alan Marshall will respectively head up Deloitte’s technology & transformation and climate & engineering businesses.
