Atturra expands into the US via its acquisition of Kitepipe

After weeks of speculation, sovereign Australian IT consultancy Atturra has now officially expanded into the US via its purchase of North Carolina-based Kitepipe.
Publicly on the cards for the past couple of months, Atturra has now formally acquired Kitepipe for around $3 million, with the Wilmington-headquartered Boomi partner having further outlets in Phoenix, Denver, Philadelphia and Washington DC, along with a global offshore support team based in the Philippines.
“This acquisition will further solidify the global relationship between Atturra and Boomi,” said Atturra chief executive Stephen Kowal. “Kitepipe’s deep Boomi expertise enhances Atturra’s ability to deliver seamless, end-to-end integration solutions to clients across the Asia Pacific and North America regions.”
Described as now one of the largest providers of its kind in the world, Kitepipe was established by CEO Larry Cone in 2011 with a view to providing specialised cloud integrations and services focused on the Boomi platform, with specific expertise in the biotech, finance and healthcare sectors among other areas.
“This is an exciting move for the Kitepipe team and our customers, as this combination brings needed scale and fills key gaps in our consulting and managed service offerings,” Cone said. “Culturally, Atturra is a great fit; they understand our niche and have the same customer-first outlook to business which has been so successful for us.”
According to Kitepipe, the US consultancy now averages over a hundred Boomi integrations per year across all verticals, and walking the walk, originally started focusing on the SaaS platform after adopting it to streamline its own cloud integration strategy. Atturra said the two companies were already well-acquainted.
“This acquisition is an exciting evolution of our data and integration capabilities, providing a capability footprint in North America,” Kowal said. “Importantly for Atturra and Kitepipe, the two teams have known each other for well over a year now and already have a great working relationship. Together, we will be the global leader in services and expertise for the growing Boomi community.”
Listing at the start of 2022 with an initial raise of $25 million, Atturra, previously known as FTS Group, has since then continued to indulge its voracious appetite for acquisitions, adding three new companies in the last months of 2024 alone. The firm’s most recent half-yearly report had the company up by almost 30 percent year-on-year, generating revenues in excess of $140 million over that six-month frame.
In a submission to the Australian Stock Exchangee, the consultancy said; "Specialising in customised integration builds, master data hub solutions and managed services, Kitepipe will add significant value to Atturra’s global operations, reinforcing its commitment to delivering innovative, data-driven transformations.”
