Atturra closes third purchase in weeks with ComActivity addition

Atturra has picked up manufacturing and distribution digital solutions provider ComActivity, the ASX-listed Australian IT services and consulting firm’s third acquisition in the space of two weeks.

Established in 2005 by Jason Levick and Mats Gunnarsson, the Sydney-based company specialises in providing Infor M3 solutions for clients in the manufacturing, food & beverage, retail, distribution, and equipment sectors.

Made for $9 million up front, Atturra said its latest purchase in a fortnight following that of Chrome Consulting and New Zealand’s Plan B would strengthen its enterprise resource planning (ERP) proposition to the manufacturing sector.

CEO Stephen Kowal stated: “We see manufacturing as a key industry within our portfolio. It’s an important contributor to the Australian economy, and we have a great loyal client base in this industry. With ComActivity on board, our industry-focused ERP technology capabilities expand significantly, allowing us to deliver cutting-edge solutions powered by Infor’s M3 product suite.”

Coming up on its two-decade anniversary, ComActivity serves clients in Australia and New Zealand with end-to-end advisory, digital transformation, data & integration, and managed services across their supply chain. The deal will see more than experienced 40 consultants, many who the firm says come directly from industry, join Atturra’s Galaxy42 subsidiary, including Levick.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Atturra,” Levick said. “This partnership will amplify our ability to deliver world-class solutions and create greater value for our clients. Together, with Atturra’s expansive resources and expertise, we are poised to take our innovative approach to the next level while maintaining the strong culture that has been the foundation of our success.”

In an ASX-briefing, Atturra noted that its latest acquisition would bring more 60 new clients to the firm (R.M.Williams, Peters, and Toyota Material Handling are among companies ComActivity has previously served), allowing for the opportunity to cross-sell other products and services. The deal would also see Atturra expand from its existing capabilities in Infor Pathway into the M3 suite.

The ComActivity purchase rounds out the trio of ‘advanced acquisition opportunities’ Atturra cited in a recent $30 million capital raise, following the completion of deals for Melbourne-based OpenText-SAP specialist Chrome Consulting and managed services provider Plan B of New Zealand. Meanwhile, management consultancy Exent was added earlier in the year.
