Global professional services firm FTI Consulting has continued to recruit senior staff for its newly-launched healthcare & human services practice.

In addition to practice lead Nathan Schlesinger, fellow senior managing director Nicki Doyle, and the six managing directors previously declared, FTI Consulting has since added further experienced healthcare sector consultants in the form of senior directors Christopher Hastie, Roy Berkin, and Martin Spits.

The latter pair are part of sizeable team to have so far crossed from Scyne in Perth, further including directors Susannah Ingram and Ben Carrick. Not noted in the firm’s original press release, Jenna McGrath also joined FTI as a managing director towards the end of last year, with its Sydney office since welcoming Amy Gifford and April Burnett.

“Christopher’s operational management, systems thinking and leadership, and Susannah’s expertise in large-scale public health projects, digital health and strategic reporting will be a tremendous asset to our clients,” Schlesinger said of some of the firm’s latest recruits. “Being surrounded by passionate, talented people who share our commitment to making a difference is energising.”

Upon launch, FTI said its new Australian healthcare and human services practice would focus on supporting clients in areas such as system reform and sustainability, digitisation, and productivity, and promised at the time to continue building up its industry expertise through further recruits; a pledge it has since followed through on.

Managing director

Since noted as a senior member of the firm’s healthcare practice, McGrath joined FTI Consulting as a managing director in Sydney in the back half of last year after more than a decade at PwC between the UK and Australia, with time also spent at now NHI outfit Monitor.

Senior Directors

Roy Berkin, Martin Spits, and Christopher Hastie have all crossed to FTI from Scyne Advisory, the former pair in Perth and the latter advisor in Brisbane, with each having previously joined PwC after earlier careers in the direct healthcare sector. Amy Gifford also recently joined FTI from PwC as a healthcare transformation & operations senior director in Sydney.

Directors

Gifford’s new office colleague in Sydney – April Burnett – breaks the trend somewhat by joining FTI as a director from Deloitte, where she spent four years in tech strategy and transformation, while Susannah Ingram and Ben Carrick are among the team to have jumped ship from Scyne in Perth, with all three having also started their careers in the healthcare sector.
