PwC appoints Warren Dick and hires Nick Davison and Anthony Lazzoppina
Professional services firm PwC has welcomed two new partners, Nick Davison and Anthony Lazzoppina, while company veteran Warren Dick has taken over as national tax & legal leader.
Davison has rejoined PwC from Ernst & Young as a financial crime specialist based out of Perth, having previously been a partner in Singapore, while Lazzoppina crosses to PwC’s deals team in Sydney after establishing Bondi Partners.
Meanwhile, Warren Dick, a three-decade company veteran based out of Sydney, has been appointed tax & legal leader, taking over the role from Chris Morris after most recently serving as head of PwC’s tax reporting and innovation practice.
Nick Davison
An expert in financial crime strategy, transformation and compliance, Davison returns to PwC after spending the past four years heading the Oceania FinCrime practice at EY, before which he was a partner with PwC’s Southeast Asia Consulting. In a career dating back three decades to London, he was also previously a managing director with EY in Tokyo, and an associate partner at KPMG.
“Criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated, harnessing AI, cryptocurrencies and complex scams to exploit vulnerabilities in financial systems,” Davison said. “I’m looking forward to working with PwC’s global team of financial crime experts to help businesses tackle this problem and reduce the impact of organised crime on society.”
Anthony Lazzoppina
Lazzoppina meanwhile joins PwC after spending the past five years as CEO of Bondi Partners, the advisory he established alongside former treasurer Joe Hockey. His switch also marks a return, having started out as a graduate at PwC in 2002, before then moving into investment banking and holding top-level, industrials-focused positions at Barclays, Credit Suisse, and Investec Australia.
“Anthony brings his extensive investment banking experience along with his insights across critical infrastructure, critical minerals, energy and food security, national security, and supply chain security,” said advisory practice leader Rohit Antao. “This is not only an exciting addition to our M&A team, but the entire firm as we navigate the end-to-end growth journey for clients.”
Warren Dick
Dick takes over as national tax & legal leader after joining Price Waterhouse in Brisbane in 1992 and being made a partner one decade on, with time also spent in Perth. He replaces deals partner Chris Morris, who has headed the tax practice and later PwC’s restructured tax & legal line since 2020, with the firm’s tax division still under scrutiny from various watchdogs.
