Rob Sutherland and Raj Verma join Healthcare arm of Nous
Management consulting firm Nous Group has bolstered its Healthcare practice with two experienced consultants: Rob Sutherland and Raj Verma.
Rob Sutherland brings over 16 years of experience in management and leadership roles in the not-for-profit, government and private health sectors to the consulting firm. He joins from ZEST Health Strategies, where he worked for five years, latterly as a Principal Consultant. Prior to that, Sutherland worked for Cancer Australia, healthcare non-profit ACON and NSW’s Ministry of Health.
Throughout his career, he has gained expertise in health policy and strategy, organisation, stakeholder engagement, relationship management, service development and redesign, and patient healthcare experience.
On LinkedIn, Sutherland took the time to look back at the past years – “it have been five fantastic years…. I feel very fortunate to have worked with so many amazingly talented and high caliber colleagues” – and look forward. “I’m very much looking forward to an exciting new chapter as a Director at Nous Group and the opportunity to continue work across the health and human services sectors.
Raj Verma has meanwhile been appointed a Principal, and is also based in the firm’s Sydney office. He previously served as an Executive Director in the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation for seven years and as a Director in NSW Health for four years. During this time he undertook an executive secondment to Medibank Private. He specialises in value-based health care, patient-reported outcome measures, healthcare redesign, telehealth and consumer engagement.
During his career in the NSW health system, Verma has driven the strategy, testing and adoption of alternative settings for care, including hospital in the home and telehealth. He also designed and delivered local and state-level transformation, including new models of emergency access, ambulance reform and integrated chronic disease management.
Commenting on his decision to join the management consulting firm, Verma said, “I look forward to joining a highly credible team with a great reputation to help policy makers and service providers to improve the health of the population, the experience of receiving care and the sustainability of health systems.”
