Nick De Klerk returns to Australia to lead TMX’s new Centre of Excellence

TMX has appointed Nick De Klerk as Managing Director and leader of its new Centre of Excellence.

De Klerk returns to Australia after two and a half years expanding TMX’s practice in North America, where he grew the team from one to almost 30 people while generating a triple digit growth during that period.

In his new role, he will establish and built out the firm’s new Centre of Excellence, which will provide expert services to the firm’s teams and clients worldwide. Founded in 2010 in Australia, TMX has over the years grown into a 200-person consultancy with hubs in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the UK, and the US. TMX specialises in supply chain management and logistics services.

As TMX delivers projects across new regions and time zones, the consulting firm faces the challenge of ensuring that every team, in every market, can draw on the same depth of expertise. “That’s exactly the gap the Centre of Excellence has been built to close, capturing knowledge from TMX’s experts and making it available consistently, wherever a client is working with the business,” explained De Klerk.

“Clients come to TMX for the surety and subject matter expertise our people bring, and we need to optimise our business to champion that on an increasingly bigger scale. The Centre of Excellence will help us capture our people’s knowledge and deploy it consistently across every market we operate in.”

The platform will be supported by Xchange, TMX’s own software for knowledge management, and a number of self-developed (AI) tools. “Having worked with major brands such as Coles, Hasbro, L’Oréal and Coca-Cola on distribution networks, property procurement, and supply chain strategy, TMX has an extensive pool of knowledge to draw from,” said De Klerk.

Commenting on the launch, Travis Erridge, CEO of TMX said: “This development is fundamental to TMX’s next phase of growth. As we take on more clients across more markets, we need every team, in every region, drawing on the same depth of expertise, not reinventing it market by market. We give our clients the confidence to implement change in a rapidly evolving supply chain landscape, and the Centre of Excellence is how we protect that at scale.”
