RSM signs two-year partnership with ten-time NBL champions Perth Wildcats

Accounting and consulting firm RSM has signed on as a gold partner of the Perth Wildcats as the National Basket League regular season rolls around for 2026/27, in what is an initial two-year deal.

The ten-time NBL champions will be hoping to go one better than last year and return to the series decider for the first time since 2021 after bowing out to the Sydney Kings in a roller-coaster semi-final, drawing on support from their loyal ‘Red Army’.

Now, the team can also rely on the support of RSM over the coming two seasons, with the accounting and consulting firm signing on as a ‘gold partner’ after having also backed the West Coast Fever as an audit provider over the past two years.

“The Perth Wildcats are one of Western Australia’s most successful and respected sporting organisations, renowned for their winning culture, team players, and strong community connections,” said RSM’s Perth managing partner Alasdair Whyte. “Backing an organisation that shares our values, ambitions, and community spirit aligns closely with our principles.”

The decade or so from 2010 to 2021 saw the Wildcats appear in nine championship finals series while bagging six titles, consistently earning the team the highest average attendance figures in the league – driven by a parochial fan-base known as the Red Army. RSM pointed to this sustained fan engagement and work with local clubs and schools as also being aligned with its ethos.

“RSM is a highly regarded advisory with a strong reputation for supporting communities and we look forward to building a successful partnership together,” said Wildcats CEO Mark Arena. “We both recognise that enduring success is rarely the result of individual talent alone; in business, as in basketball, it requires strong leadership, a clear strategy, and team players who step up when it counts.”

RSM – which has a network of over 20 offices spread across Western Australia and 400 professionals split between Perth and the state’s regional areas – has also served as Netball WA and the West Coast Fever’s exclusive financial audit partner since 2024, earning a spot on game-day signage, as well serving as the auditor of the state’s peak industry sports body Sportswest.

“While basketball and professional services might seem worlds apart, there’s a lot we share, a focus on performance, teamwork, resilience, and strong relationships built over time,” the firm said of its latest sports deal. “We’re looking forward to getting behind the team, connecting with the Wildcats community, and sharing the match-day experience with our clients and people.
