In a 2018 report by Deloitte Access Economics, the researchers found that customer experience (CEX) across physical and digital purchasing channels – allowing consumers to seamlessly interact with the business online and offline – is becoming one of the most strategic priorities of sales & marketing leaders. Technology is herein a crucial component, providing the fundament for CEX enhancement.

A graduate from the National University of Singapore, Akram has well over a decade of professional experience. He spent more than half a decade at Barclays Investment Bank, making his way up to the position of Assistant Vice President, where he managed all phases of the software development life cycle.

Since 2015, Akram has been a Senior Software Engineer, Architect and Tech Lead at We Are You, formerly known as Redhotminute. At We Are You, he used Sitecore Experience Commerce to develop ecommerce capabilities, a task that he will now continue in his new role at Deloitte Digital.

“Rameez has great breadth of experience and knowledge in the commerce space is rightly recognised by all in the Sitecore community and we are looking forward to the value he will bring to both our clients and our relationship with Sitecore,” said Cameron Walker, a Principal at Deloitte Digital.

Troy Outtram, Deloitte’s national Sitecore alliance leader, added, “Having Rameez join shows our commitment to our platinum Sitecore partnership. We are looking to really expand both capability and offerings in 2020 and Rameez will be a big part of that.”

Akram himself said that he is particularly excited about “working with the multitude of talent across Deloitte Digital and the wider firm.”

In its latest financial year, Deloitte saw its revenues grow by 13% to $2.3 billion. Its Deloitte Digital unit was among the fastest growing divisions. Meanwhile, Deloitte Digital last year expanded into the New Zealand market with the January acquisition of CloudinIT, and has since seen the unit enjoy organic growth.
