Yael Cass joins Nous Group's public policy practice
Yael Cass, a three decade social service veteran, has joined management consulting firm Nous Group.
Appointed a Principal Consultant, Yael Cass joins having served as First Assistant Secretary in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, where she was the Division Head of Intergovernmental Relations and Reform, and Head of the Social Impact Investing Taskforce and National Office for Child Safety.
Before that, Cass was the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation Authority for five years, having previously worked in the field of national social policy for over two decades – with a principal focus on health and ageing policy and programs, Indigenous affairs, community service policy and programs, education and training and immigration policy.
“Yael brings broad experience that will further enhance our capability in public policy, particularly in the areas of health and ageing and human services,” said Tim Orton, Chief Executive Officer of Nous Group.

Nous Group's Public Policy practice helps governments with public policy advice, development and evaluations, and works with organisations to respond to changing policy contexts. Other Principal Consultants in the practice include Aaron Maher, Claire Noone, Tanya Smith, Sudipto Sarkar, and Penny Gregory.
Cass will operate from the firm’s Melbourne and Canberra offices– two of its nine hubs nationally. Internationally, the home-grown consultancy also has operations in the UK and Canada (launched early 2020).
