Partners in Performance buys data analytics specialist DataStories
Partners in Performance has beefed up its data analytics capabilities with the acquisition of DataStories, a fast growing Europe-based data science company.
Commenting on the acquisition, Skipp Williamson, Managing Director of Partners in Performance, said: “Digitisation and automation will continue to change the world and along with it how our clients operate and do business. With this acquisition, we further bolster our digital capabilities, enhancing our ability to help clients maximise performance and open up new sources of growth,”
Based in Belgium, DataStories is a scale-up that helps companies with turning their big data into actionable insights. “Data is an asset which can unlock unseen opportunities for improved performance, innovation and competitiveness,” explained Katya Vladislavleva, the CEO and Founder of DataStories.
“We also believe that the way to do this is not by handing over to data scientists but by augmenting and updating the skillsets of professionals and subject matter experts.” The firm’s DataStories platform is at the heart of this promise, providing professionals with an artificial intelligence based tool that enables them to understand and analyse data, and then rapidly turn information into visual dashboards and strategic insights.
“Our platform is designed for business people, who own the business questions and context, and want to drill and iterate on the analysis themselves,” said Vladislavleva, who led the firm through two Seed rounds in 2017 (€900k by a private investor) and a €2.2 million Series A round in 2018 led by Dutch private equity firm Newion Investments.
Meanwhile, data scientists are provided the tools (example: a Python library) to take data analysis to the next level, enabling them to support business requirements “quicker, more efficiently and beautifully” according to the firm.
Following deal closing, the DataStories team of data scientists will work with consultant teams of Partners in Performance to help organisations utilise data science and advanced analytics to unlock continuous improvement and innovation. The firm will remain a separate entity, and organisationally be integrated within Partners in Performance’s fast growing Digital practice.
Juan Ferrara, Director of the firm’s Prescriptive Analytics practice, said: “DataStories will enable us to effectively offer our clients solutions that leverage a platform that can quickly provide insights from available data working closely together with the client’s subject matter experts and operating staff.”
The deal sees a team of around fifteen employees transfer to Partners in Performance, an award-winning Australian-origin management consultancy with over 500 employees globally.
