Avocado Consulting expands cyber capabilities with Cyberisk deal
Technology consultancy Avocado Consulting has beefed up its cyber security capabilities with the acquisition of Cyberisk, a boutique cyber and information security specialist in Victoria.
The deal sees a team of 15 employees join Avocado Consulting, including Cyberisk’s owner David Vohradsky, who now leads the combined Cyber Security practice.
Avocado Consulting’s Cyber Security practice provides advice and technology support in areas including governance, risk and cyber security frameworks, risk quantification, remediation planning, business continuity, control assurance, and security architecture.
“This acquisition enables us to add critical advisory services at the start of a client’s cyber maturity journey – and complements our existing cyber technology capabilities that focus on creating threat monitoring, detection, and alerting solutions,” said Gerardo Barranquero, the CEO of Avocado Consulting.
The deal builds on a long-standing referral relationship – “we were both convinced now is the time to combine our services and solutions to better meet client’s needs,” stated Barranquero.
“There’s no doubt, the threat landscape is ever-changing and increasing. Security must be a priority for all decision-makers and IT teams to retain the trust of customers. By strengthening our cyber security capabilities, we are confident we can continue to support clients to deliver technology change with certainty.”
Meanwhile, for Cyberisk, the merger into the 150-strong Sydney-based technology consultancy will enable its team to provide a more rounded, and end-to-end offering to its clients.
Vohradsky, a 30-year veteran in the IT industry, said: “We can now include the strength of Avocado Consulting’s delivery services to address gaps in our client's cyber architecture and governance, risk & compliance reviews. Together, we provide a multi-service capability for our clients cyber security needs.”
Established in 2004, Avocado Consulting also supports clients with product delivery, Cloud and testing services. “Our clients include some of the largest government agencies and top ASX listed companies,” according to Barranquero.
