KordaMentha pinches Sydney real estate team from PwC

PwC real estate practice leader Tony Massaro has joined professional services firm KordaMentha as a partner to expand its Sydney practice, alongside colleagues Paul McNamara and Nicholas Lucas.

Business advisory KordaMentha has poached a senior team from PwC to bolster its Real Estate practice in Sydney, with Tony Massaro added to the KordaMenthapartnership and Paul McNamara and Nicholas Lucas crossing as director and associate director respectively.

The consulting firm said that the expansion of its Real Estate practice in Sydney follows on from the foundations it has already previously established in Melbourne and Brisbane.

KordaMentha national real estate head Tom Davis said the trio bring invaluable experience across real estate, including specialist knowledge in the aged care and retirement real estate industry. “Their ability to open doors with the relationships and networks they have formed will allow our firm to continue to improve our offering to our ever-growing client and investor base and expand our development and investment capability.”

A partner at PwC since 2016, Tony Massaro is credited with co-founding the professional services firm’s Real Estate Advisory offering and has served as its Sydneypractice lead, advising public and private sector clients on property projects across a diverse number of industries, including, retirement, aged care, residential, commercial office and industrial.

He joined PwC from ING Real Estate in 2013, and kicked off his career at Boston Consulting Group.

An associate director at PwC, Paul McNamara joins KordaMentha as a director. McNamara has spent the past eight years with PwC’s real estate team in Sydney, first joining in 2016 following a Masters of Property Development with the University of Technology Sydney. His experience spans project and development management, capital transaction management, and commercial advisory across multiple real estateasset classes.

Nicholas Lucas holds a double degree in civil engineering and commerce from the University of New South Wales, and joined PwC as a deals & infrastructure consultant in Sydney in 2018 after completing an undergraduate placement with Arcadis. Lucas has spent the past five years at PwC managing direct real estate transactions and corporate real estate M&A, while also providing strategic advice to clients on their property portfolios.
