Nexia hands out excellence awards to Australian trio
Three of Nexia’s Australian staff in its Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide branches have received the firm’s annual awards for excellence.
The Australian branch of mid-tier accounting and advisory network Nexia has issued its annual Excellence Awards for staff who have demonstrated excellence throughout the year across three categories, which were handed out during the firm’s recent A/NZ conference held in Canberra.
Spread among its Australian offices, Joanne Arancibia, Anne-Marie Andrews, and Amanda Robertson were this year’s recipients.
Based out of Nexia’s Sydney office, business development and marketing manager Joanne Arancibia has taken home this year’s Excellence in Leadership Award. Arancibia joined Nexia in 2021 after more than seven and a half years overseeing marketing and corporate communications at peak industry body the Australian Federation of Travel Agents, having gained her business degree from the University of Technology Sydney in 2006.
Also in a marketing (and HR) role, Amanda Robertson was awarded for excellence in community service, stating that making a difference in the community is her foremost passion. Robertson has been a full-time member of Nexia’s Brisbane office for the past seven years, and has very close ties to the firm; her mother is managing partner and father the former CEO, with her grandfather having established its predecessor in 1970.
“Amanda has been a driving force within the Nexia Brisbane team, organising and leading internal charity and sporting events that bring our departments together,” the firm said in congratulations. “Outside of work, she also volunteers at the Wesley Mission, dedicating her time and effort to preparing and serving meals to the less fortunate. She exemplifies our Brisbane ‘pillars of culture’ both within the firm and the community.”
Anne-Marie Andrews, a business operations specialist in Nexia’s Adelaide office for the past ten years, has meanwhile won the Growth and Innovation award, stating of the honour that, “I have always had a passion for creating efficiencies and pushing the boundaries of innovation. I’m fortunate to work in an environment that allows me to utilise these skills and encourages me to seek out ongoing development opportunities.”
The excellence awards were announced during Nexia’s recent three-day A/NZ Conference in Canberra, which brought together leaders of the network’s Australian branch with their Kiwi colleagues, including eight partners from Auckland and Christchurch, and altogether attracted more than 150 professionals from both sides of the ditch.
Nexia said that while its specialty is accountancy and advice, the firm is “actually in the business of people.”
