BDO promotes 17 company members to partner

25 June 2023 Consultancy.com.au

BDO has elevated 17 company members to partner in its mid-year promotion round, taking the firm’s total number of partners up to 269.

The 1 July cohort of partner promotions is spread across BDO’s key divisions – Audit (3), Tax (2), Business Services (9), and Advisory (3) – and across its offices – Sydney (5), Brisbane (5), Adelaide (4), Cairns (2) and Perth (1).

Having already topped the 250-partner milestone in January this year, BDO's Chief Executive Partner Tony Schiffmann said that the further increase in partner numbers reflects continuing strong demand for BDO’s services and “demonstrable competitive advantage” in the market.

Just five years ago, BDO generated fee income of around $269 million in Australia. Fast forward to today, following five years of notable growth (three of which were double-digit), and BDO now tops the $400 million mark – with the ambition to reach the half a billion landmark in the coming years.

That milestone may come sooner than expected. While the firm has yet to release its financial figures for the 2022/23 reporting year, Schiffmann did state “we are on track for another very successful year with annual revenue and percentage growth tipped to be the largest increase in a number of years” (meaning it will be higher than last year’s 15% growth).

“As part of its ongoing commitment to developing future leaders, we remain committed to nurturing the people that we have at BDO. The 17 people moving up to the position of partner demonstrates our support of future leaders by providing tangible career development opportunities,” said Schiffmann.
