Jeff Forrest re-joins L.E.K. Consulting in Australia as partner
After spending five years with transmission business Transgrid, Jeff Forrest has re-joined L.E.K. Consulting – now becoming a partner.
The move back to the global strategy consulting business marks his second return to the firm, having previously returned in 2015 following an initial two-year tenure earlier in his career.
“Jeff’s return is a huge win for L.E.K. Consulting. He returns with insurmountable experience at the forefront of Australia’s energy sector. Combining this with his familiarity with the firm means he immediately strengthens the team and our Energy practice,” said Stephanie Newey, Australia Managing Partner at L.E.K. Consulting.
In his last role at Transgrid, Forrest was General Manager of the Finance department, responsible for financial performance and a large transformation of the function. As Acting CFO and Head of Finance & Investor Relations, he led multiple major projects through regulatory approval and financial close including Project EnergyConnect, one of Australia’s largest ever transmission infrastructure projects.
Forrest also served as Head of Corporate Strategy at Transgrid, spearheading the company’s strategic pivot towards renewable energy solutions.
During his years in consulting, Forrest helped clients across the energy landscape with strategic and commercial challenges, value creation, mergers & acquisitions, performance improvement, and the energy transition. “I’m passionate about the disruption we’re seeing in the energy sector and the opportunities it represents,” Forrest said.
Forrest also has experience working as an advisor to startups and early stage companies, primarily in the clean energy and sustainability sectors, helping them to develop their strategies, raise funds, and grow.
Prior to joining L.E.K. Consulting over a decade ago, Forrest worked for counterparts EY and Corporate Value Associates.
L.E.K. Consulting’s Energy practice serves clients through all parts of the value chain, spanning energy generators, transmission and distribution businesses, energy retailers and government organisations. The practice ranks as one of Australia’s leading consultants to the sector.
Beyond his work in the energy space, Forrest will support the personal development of staff within L.E.K. Consulting. “We look forward to Jeff’s passion for mentoring the next generation of leaders,” said Newey.
