Having gained Great Place to Work accreditation earlier this year, Nous Group has now been named by the organisation as one of the country’s 30 best medium-sized workplaces.

Management consultancy Nous Group has featured among a list of Australia’s Best Workplaces – adding to a growing number of human capital accolades.

Compiled by global research and certification firm Great Place To Work, the annual list of Australia’s top work environments is based on confidential employee surveys and includes four categories according to company size, with Nous Group claiming one of the top spots in the  ‘medium’ category.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have been recognised as one of Australia’s best workplaces yet again,” commented founder and CEO Tim Orton. “This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the ongoing commitment of every Nouser and Cubanite to creating an exceptional environment that promotes aspiration, trust, collaboration, humility and inclusiveness. It’s through all our actions, big and small, that we build and continuously improve our culture.”

Now into its 16th year, Australia’s Best Workplaces list is compiled via Great Place to Work’s trust index, which considers trust, respect, fairness and camaraderie among its key pillars and assesses not only an employee’s relationship with management and colleagues but also the level of pride they have in their their job. According to the results, more than 90 percent of Nous Group’s 650 or so locally-based staff believe they belong to a great workplace.

That satisfaction is evidenced by the swag of human resources awards that now sit on the firm’s mantle, the firm having already this year received a Top 100 Graduate Employer placing and been named by LinkedIn as one of Australia’s leading companies for career progression based on the employment platform’s significant data pool. Nous Group has also previously been recognised for its inclusivity, and was given top spot in WRK’s 2021 ‘Best Places to Work’ study.

“The different awards we have received this year are testament to our focus on making Nous Group not only a great place to work every day but a great place to start and grow your career,” commented Melbourne-based chief people officer Sally Pritchard. “People join Nous because they want to have inspiring careers doing interesting work that significantly improves people’s lives – and we are committed to helping them achieve those goals and more.”

This year’s top spot in the medium-sized category – for organisations with between 100 and 999 employees – fell to Adobe, with information technology companies dominating the overall list. The large company crown was meanwhile claimed by Cisco for the fourth straight year, ahead of perennial top performers Atlassian, Hilton. DHL and REA Group. The consulting realm was represented by Capgemini, which landed in ninth place.

Citing cost-of-living pressures and the enduring impact of Covid-19 on the survey data, Great Place To Work managing director for Australia Roland Wee said: “What sets these 90 Best Workplaces apart from the rest is their leaders’ strong integrity and unwavering commitment to deliver on promises, engaging meaningfully with employees, cultivating an atmosphere of mutual respect and building a true sense of camaraderie, especially when times are tough.”
