NTT Data names David McKeering as CEO for ANZ region
Global technology consultancy NTT Data has recruited former PwC consulting boss and two-decade company veteran David McKeering as its new CEO for Australia and New Zealand.
McKeering first joined PwC in 2005, before later heading the firm’s national healthcare practice and serving as COO of Southeast Asia Consulting out of Singapore. In 2020, he was appointed Australian consulting leader.
His appointment as NTT Data’s new A/NZ chief comes as the global tech consultancy undergoes a period of transition through the merger of NTT DATA and NTT into a single entity, with Abhijit Dubey since appointed global CEO.

McKeering was made partner at PwC just two years after joining the firm in Brisbane from an earlier stint as a director at BDO, and held various senior leadership positions across his two-decade stay at the firm, including as ASEANZ Consulting CEO, having earlier helped build up the Southeast Asia practice. He was also previously a board member of PwC Indigenous Consulting.
Prior to losing a vast chunk of its business to public sector breakaway Scyne, PwC’s Australian consulting division was home to more than 2,000 partners and staff generating revenues in excess of $850 million. Surviving the initial executive leadership fall-out from PwC’s government tax scandal, McKeering has since handed over consulting leadership duties to Rohit Antao.
Another PwC Consulting veteran, ex-chief of staff and digital lead Kristy Simpkin, has also crossed to NTT Data as vice president of strategy & transformation, while former Crowe Horwath Australasia CEO, SAP global IT and business transformation lead, and one-time KPMG managing director John Lombard continues as Asia Pacific CEO of the merged NTT Data.
The coming together of NTT Data and NTT Ltd. has created a $30 billion global tech and business services giant covering more than 50 countries, with the Asia Pacific contributing around $4 billion of its revenues outside of Japan. NTT Data has in recent days confirmed London-based former McKinsey & Company senior partner Abhijit Dubey as head of its international business.
