Perth-based energy specialist Merz Consulting joins Mott MacDonald
Perth-based professional services firm Merz Consulting has been acquired by Mott MacDonald, one of the globe’s largest engineering groups.
Founded in 2012, Merz Consulting specialises in the energy sector, working with clients on distribution, transmission en generation projects. The firm provides expertise from policy advice and strategic planning through to electrical engineering, project management and other energy related services.
The deal will see Merz Consulting’s 22-person team of advisors, engineers and project managers join Mott MacDonald’s team in Western Australia.
Frances Badelow, Mott MacDonald’s managing director for Australia said the purchase of Merz Consulting adds specialised and in-demand capabilities to Mott MacDonald, enabling the firm to meet growing demand for energy transition services.
“Merz Consulting specialises in detailed electrical engineering design of substations, switchyards, transmission lines and grid connections in addition to supporting clients with power system modelling, policy advice and strategic planning services. The business has a long history of supporting energy transition projects across Australia and has unique experience in the Pilbara region.”
