Renata Berglas leads Ports practice of GHD in Australia

Global professional services company GHD has appointed Renata Berglas as the new leader of its Ports practice in Australia.

In her role, Renata Berglas will oversee GHD’s engineering and advisory offerings to ports across the nation, with the aim to providing an integrated proposition that supports ports with their ambitions and future-proofing needs. 

Berglas will also serve as the liaison for connecting the firm’s ports expertise with related services, such as maritime infrastructure, oil & gas, renewable energy, natural resources, freight and defence.

A leader with extensive experience in the transport and government sector, Berglas previously worked at the National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO), Queensland Transport and Logistics Council, and AgForce Queensland. She has expertise in strategy development, operations, technology implementation, and decarbonization, including in the ports landscape.

Her dedication to the industry is further evidenced by her founding of the Hydrogen Queensland Industry Group (Berglas). Through this initiative, Berglas has played a crucial role in advancing sustainable port operations on a global scale, including working with the Port of Antwerp in Belgium, Maersk McKinney Moller Centre for Zero Carbon Shipping in Copenhagen, and the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
