Having recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, Melbourne-based digital consultancy DB Results is now making a concerted push into Brisbane, led by regional director Gil Winters.

Winters, who has been with DB Results since the start of 2022 and boasts over three decades of IT and consulting experience, will be joined in his efforts by former Accenture veteran Scott Sheldon, who joins as an executive consultant.

DB Results was established in Melbourne in 2004 by co-chief executives Gavin Bunshaw and Andrew Dean, and soon spread to Sydney and Canberra before later adding international outlets in Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Thailand.

Now, the consultancy has its sights set on Queensland, enticed by the state’s rich economic potential. According to industry publication CRN, DB Results envisions Brisbane as a growth driver across multiple sectors, including government, healthcare, utilities and financial services, to the extent that it expects the practice to match the size of its Victoria and NSW business within just three years.

Leading the charge will be executive consultant Winters, who takes on the role of regional Queensland director. Winters kicked off his career with Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington back in 1991, and prior to migrating from the US also spent time at AT&T Solutions and as a director in Capgemini’s management consulting division in Atlanta, which is now dubbed Capgemini Invent.

After touching down in Australia in 2008, Winters went on to establish data & analytics CX platform Customer Compass with the backing of KPMG, later selling to 7.ai, where he spent the next three and a half years as global customer journey analytics lead before then moving on to SavvyCard in a chief revenue officer role. He joined DB Results at the beginning of 2022.

DB Results boasts a headcount of more that 400 specialists across Australia, Asia and the Americas, and last year gained B Corp certification. As part of its commitment to positive impact, the firm has already been supporting the Queensland First Nations Digital Service Centre initiative, which since 2022 has so far created 50 permanent digital jobs for local Indigenous and disadvantaged job seekers.
