Seasoned sustainability advisor David Dickson has joined Rennie as an Executive Director, bringing decades of experience to the firm.

In his new role, David will lead Rennie’s Sustainability advisory group, focusing on expanding the firm’s presence in the Resources and Advanced Manufacturing sectors.

“We are thrilled to welcome David to our leadership team and to our Brisbane office,” said Simone Rennie, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Rennie. “David brings with him a wealth of experience from senior global roles in industrial conglomerates, technology, and consulting firms. Combined with his proven ability to deliver practical engineering and operational outcomes in the industry, David will be invaluable to our firm and our clients.”

David joins Rennie after a career with globally renowned Fortune 500 companies. At Accenture, the world’s largest consulting firm, he led the Sustainability Services division for the Growth Markets, delivering strategy and sustainable outcomes for clients across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Prior to that, he served as IBM’s Global Sector Leader for Mining, Metals, and Mill industries, while simultaneously holding the role of Global Sustainability Leader for the Energy, Resources, and Manufacturing sectors. During his 15-year tenure at Honeywell, he was the global leader of the Oil & Gas industry at Honeywell Process Solutions.

“I’m excited to join the leadership team at Rennie,” said David. “Heavy industry is not only a major source of the climate crisis but also holds the key to unlock its solutions. I look forward to helping our clients navigate their sustainability challenges and make meaningful progress toward their ESG goals. With my values closely aligned with those of the Rennie team, I’m eager to contribute to our shared mission of redefining sustainable success.”

Since its inception three years ago, Rennie has rapidly become a serious challenger to mid-market and top-tier consulting firms in areas such as strategy, capital advisory, business advisory, sustainability advisory, and policy and reform. The firm, which is backed by Pemba Capital, now comprises just under 70 people across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Brisbane.
