Australian consulting firm GrowthOps has appointed Dutchman Pieter-Paul von Weiler as its chief strategy officer – a newly created role.

After rebranding its Australian and New Zealand operation as GrowthOps in November last year – dropping Trimantium from its brand – in March this year the firm’s Asian division also took on the new brand. In a bid to tap the synergies from the new unified firm, which was formed 2017 following the merger of eight separate IT advisory and consulting firms, and drive growth, GrowthOps’s chief executive Paul Mansfield has added a new role to the Board.

The firm’s chief strategy officer has been tasked with “delivering GrowthOps’ growth ambition, helping the executive team develop and execute strategic initiatives and ensure that the organisation reaches its potential as we begin our second year of operation as a single company,” said Mansfield.

Appointed to fill the shoes is Pieter-Paul von Weiler, who has been described by Mansfield as one recognised and awarded strategists in the Asia Pacific region. “Pieter-Paul brings a unique combination of strategic, creative, and business thinking, which has contributed to the great outcomes he has achieved for clients and the recognition he has received along the way. He is a true change maker.” Among the recognitions he has received include contributing to thirteen Effies and one IPA Effectiveness award.

Von Weiler ascends to the role from his previous position of Head of Strategy at AJF Partnership, one of Australia’s larger independent advertising agencies. AJF Partnership has been a subsidiary of GrowthOps since November 2017, when the Melbourne-based creative agency was acquired by its parent shortly after it absorbed creative agency Khemistry, branding agency Voodoo Creative and a raft of digital agencies.

Before his seven-year spell at AJF Partnership, he worked as a planner at Saatchi & Saatchi in London and as a planner at Publicis in London and Amsterdam, where he graduated in 2005 from the VU Amsterdam with a masters in Communication. His track record includes driving campaigns and change at leading brands and companies like Advil, Cadbury, Coca-Cola, Diageo, Kerry Foods, Officeworks, Oxfam, PepsiCo and Renault. Alongside leading strategy execution work, Von Weiler will also serve some of GrowthOps’ key clients.

GrowthOps is a consulting firm that specialises in digital marketing, sales & marketing, digitisation and human capital offerings, provided by a team of marketers, consultants, technology experts and change professionals. It is this multi-disciplinary approach, combined with the growth ambition, that attracted Von to his new employer. “GrowthOps is different. We are a collective of highly accomplished entrepreneurs, specialists, thinkers and doers in marketing, tech and coaching that have come together to help clients take a more integrated approach in order to grow more effectively.”

The listed company – on the Australian Securities Exchange – has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Auckland, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Hong Kong.
