Held mid-way this month, the Financial Review Banking Summit will bring together leaders from across Australia’s banking sector to discuss future challenges and opportunities. Protiviti will serve as the event’s Platinum partner.
Now in its fifth year, the Financial Review Banking Summit will take place on March 18 at the Hilton in Sydney, bringing together CxO’s, executives and managers from banking institutions, regulators, and service providers to address emerging challenges and shape the future of financial services in Australia.
The full-day event will feature a comprehensive agenda, including keynote addresses, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. Notable speakers include the CEO’s of National Australia Bank (Andrew Irvine), Commonwealth Bank of Australia (Matt Comyn), ING Australia (Melanie Evans), and the Australian Banking Association (Anna Bligh).

One of two platinum partners (the other being Snowflake), Protiviti will play a key role in informing participants and shaping discussions. “It’s wonderful to be involved in this event,” said Leslie Howatt, Managing Director and Technology Lead at Protiviti. “We can really bring complex challenges like data and AI governance, and security and privacy to the forefront.”
Howatt meanwhile will also sit on one of the panels, focused on data and artificial intelligence, alongside industry experts Makenna Ralston (CEO of CommBank iQ) and Nicholas Davis (Co-Director Human Technology Institute at the University of Technology Sydney).
Matthew Pirera, Managing Director and Leader of the firm’s Financial Services practice, said that the sponsorship underscores Protiviti’s committed to supporting positive change and innovation within the banking industry. Last year, the firm was named among the nation’s leading consulting firms in the banking sector.
“We are delighted to support the Financial Review Banking Summit as a platinum sponsor,” said Pirera. This event provides a vital platform for industry leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue about the evolving landscape of banking and finance. At Protiviti, we are committed to helping our clients navigate these changes with confidence and agility.”
Other partners of the Financial Review Banking Summit are NextGen (a technology company) and Gilbert + Tobin (a law firm). They both sit in the Gold tier, one level below Protiviti.
