Australian consultancy firm McGrathNicol has become a member of Eight International, a global network of consultancies specialised in corporate advice, financial advisory and mergers & acquisitions.

Founded in 2004, McGrathNicol is a specialist advisory and restructuring firm with over 370 staff and 55 partners across six offices in Australia and New Zealand. The firm works for both public and private sector clients on topics such as risk, mergers & acquisitions, cyber, forensic investigations, and restructuring.

As part of the affiliation, McGrathNicol will be able to extend its services to clients seeking guidance and support outside of ANZ, leveraging the footprint of Eight International. Headquartered in Luxembourg, Eight International’s member firms have over 3,600 professionals in 15 countries, mainly based in the US, Europe, and the Middle East.

“We are very pleased to announce our affiliation with the Eight International network,” said Jamie Harris, Managing Partner at McGrathNicol. “This collaboration broadens our global reach and enhances our services offering to clients, enabling McGrathNicol experts to draw from a range of innovative solutions and insights from around the world.”

Meanwhile, clients of other Eight International members firms aiming to do business in ANZ will be passed on to McGrathNicol. This will provide the Australian consulting firm with a flow of potential engagements, and create invaluable opportunities for its people to learn and grow.

Entry into ANZ

For Eight International, the tie up is part of its ambition to achieve coverage across all corners of the world. Already a leader in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific are regions where the firm is building up, with McGrathNicol just its second member in Asia-Pacific (following one in India), providing coverage for the important ANZ market.

“We are delighted to welcome McGrathNicol to Eight International,” said Pascal Raidron, President of the network. “Their exceptional expertise and proven track record in advisory and restructuring services greatly enhances our global capabilities. Together, we will strategically support businesses in Australia East, drive growth and deliver value to our clients.”

The news comes hot on the heels of Eight International signing on UAE-based DH Advisory, and around a year after the network’s largest member firm – Paris-headquartered Eight Advisory – closed an acquisition in France.
