Deloitte has released its latest ‘Best Managed Companies’ awards for privately-owned Australian businesses, with tech consultancy Kinetic IT once again featuring.

Now into its fifth cycle but with just six top-performing companies named to this year’s list, Kinetic IT’s inclusion marks its fourth consecutive appearance, earning the Perth-based tech advisory and services provider a ‘gold standard’ designation.

“This highlights our team’s enduring pursuit of excellence,” said CEO Michael North. “Kinetic IT’s success is driven by strategic vision, innovation, and a strong culture. Deloitte’s acknowledgement reinforces our commitment to leading and growing sustainably.”

Kinetic IT has been in operation for close to three decades and has a strong family-streak running through the business, with North’s brothers Terry and Phillip being co-founders. Meanwhile, former Wipro and IBM Consulting A/NZ managing director Sarah Adam-Gedge was appointed chair at the start of last year to help drive strategy and growth.

To be eligible to participate in the ‘Best Managed’ program, companies need to be Australian-owned or based and generating revenues upwards of $100 million. They are then bench-marked against a global network of 1,700 leading peers, assessed according to not only financial performance but in areas such as strategy, innovation, culture, and governance.

This year, Kinetic IT was one of just six Australian companies to make the grade, with technology sector recruitment specialist Talent and comparative insurance platform BizCover the only other entries operating predominantly in the digital realm. QBD Books (retail), Craig Mostyn Group (agribusiness), and Incat Tasmania (shipbuilding) rounded out the list.

“This year's winners demonstrated an impressive ability to adapt with speed, remaining flexible in the face of an uncertain global and domestic environment to remain successful in a challenging market,” stated Deloitte Private leader Natalie Faull. “It is particularly gratifying to see the emphasis they place on continual improvement and operational excellence.”

Best Managed Companies

First held in Australia in 2019, Deloitte’s ‘Best Managed Companies’ program, which Faull leads for the Asia Pacific, was originally established more than thirty years ago in Canada and has since spread to 46 countries across the Americas, Europe, and Australasia, with a recent launch in the UK and an Africa roll-out shortly due.

Its latest ‘best managed’ accolade is Kinetic IT’s second big win in the past month, with the company also taking home ServiceNow’s 2025 Asia Pacific ‘Consulting and Implementation' partner of the year award in the premier partner bracket. Deloitte meanwhile won the platform’s regional ‘Customer Workflow' partner of the year’ award.
