Accounting and consulting firm William Buck has added four new partners across its service lines in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Canberra, including one internal promotion and three fresh recruits.

A member of William Buck’s audit & assurance team since 2020, Darius Lee has been bumped up to partner in Melbourne, with new office colleague Paul Tucker joining as a business advisory partner from SCM Financial Group.

Maria Ravese meanwhile joins William Buck as a tax services partner in Adelaide after a 25-year career at PwC and more recent stint at Vialto Partners, with Shiv Goundar crossing from Synergy as an audit & assurance partner in Canberra.

“Their specialised experience substantially strengthens our capabilities in high-demand areas,” said newly-appointed A/NZ chair Greg Travers, who specifically noted that Goundar’s addition in Canberra would help address the evolving needs of its public sector clients and enable the firm to offer a full suite of services in the ACT market.

A business graduate in accounting and marketing from Monash University, Darius Lee kicked off his career in 2011 with six and a half years at Ernst & Young, before later joining William Buck as a manager. The technology and mining sectors are among his listed industry specialities.

Paul Tucker meanwhile brings more than two and a half decades worth of experience to the firm, including 19 years in growth and development roles at RSM. Since 2017 he has been a director at Business Depot and accounting managing partner with SCM upon its Melbourne merger.

An employment tax specialist, Maria Ravese joins from global mobility consultancy Vialto, where she was a partner for the past two and a half years. Before that she was a partner at PwC based in the firm’s London, Sydney and Adelaide offices dating back to 1997, most recently leading the latter’s People business.

Previously a risk assurance associate director serving federal government clients and other large public sector organisations during more than a decade at KPMG, Shiv Goundar has spent the past four and a half years at Synergy Group as an executive director and then partner since 2023.

Travers concluded that the calibre of its latest recruits showcased William Buck’s ability to attract market-leading expertise, while Lee’s promotion, which follows last year’s record intake, demonstrated the mid-tier firm’s commitment to its internal talent and focus on career progression.
