William Buck pushes partnership past 150-mark with latest intake

Accounting and consulting firm William Buck has pushed its Australian and New Zealand partnership count past the 150 mark with the admission of five new members across the country.

Brandon See and Lloyd McGeary become business advisory partners in Western Australia and Victoria, while Kuan Yin Lau steps up as an audit & assurance partner in Perth and superannuation specialist Peter Andreassen has been promoted in Brisbane.

The fifth partner, Ross Corcoran, joins William Buck via the firm’s merger with his Canberra-based accounting boutique Dot Advisory, its second such move in the past twelve month following the addition of Link Capital Partners as the firm continues its expansion in the ACT.

“We are promoting our younger leaders throughout the practice and strengthening our services to clients,” William Buck chair Greg Travers said of the firm’s newest partners, with further recent additions taking its total count beyond 150. “Our goal is to be an employer of choice and we are committed to creating an environment where people can do and be their best.”

Ross Corcoran
A commerce graduate from The Australian National University, Corcoran established Dot Advisory in the capital in 2016 after an eighteen month stint with Deloitte, before which he cut his teeth over six years with another Canberra accounting boutique, Bonsella. He serves clients in the construction, hospitality, and tech sectors among others in areas such as profit improvement and structuring.

“This merger allows us to continue delivering the personalised service our clients value, while creating new opportunities for our team and the broader Canberra market,” Corcoran said of joining William Buck, alongside four other Dot Advisory professionals. “It’s a step forward not just for our practice, but for the local advisory sector as a whole.”

Brandon See
At the other end of the spectrum, Brandon See becomes a business advisory partner in Perth after first joining the firm as a Curtin graduate in 2012, before taking a brief eighteen month spell at KPMG and returning to William Buck in 2023. He serves private businesses and individuals in the mining, energy, and manufacturing among others on accounting, tax, and strategic planning.

Lloyd McGeary
McGeary likewise joins William Buck’s business advisory partnership, in Melbourne, after crossing to the firm from ShineWing (now SW Accountants & Advisors) in 2017. Since then he has steadily risen the ranks, including being promoted to principal at the start of last year, while specialising in business structuring, advisory, and ongoing financial support for clients.

Kuan Yin Lau
Back in Perth, Kuan Yin Lau becomes an audit & assurance partner after joining the firm in 2021 following a four-and-half-year stint at Nexia, before which she kicked off her career with more than a decade at Deloitte in Malaysia, including significant time within the firm’s transaction services team. She specialises in external audits, and volunteers her expertise to the non-profit sector.

Peter Andreassen
Meanwhile, Peter Andreassen has been promoted to partner within the firm’s business advisory & superannuation division in Brisbane after joining in 2009 following brief stints at a number of smaller accountancies dating back to 2003. In addition to specialising in self-managed superannuation funds, he supports a variety of client types with the preparation of financial reports and tax returns.
